It's Been Busy
These past few weeks have been so busy, I didn't even have time to write in April. I had done a photo shoot with my friend, Lauren, back in April with a friend, Deborah Hoehner, who lives here in Moscow. We had such a fun time during the shoot, as we walked through new neighbourhoods with many beautiful buildings.
The three of us also went to Easter mass, which was my first mass here in Russia. It was really nice to be able to go to mass again, and everyone was so welcoming there. Along with this, I have also been preparing for both school and dance exams. The only dance exam date I know is my ballet exam, which is on May 31! All of my other class exams will be very soon after that, so my class and I have been preparing. Over the past month, I have probably been to multiple Grishko shops around 5 times. The first time, I had to buy new ballet shoes, then the rest of the visits were for character shoes, exam leotards and skirts, and a character skirt, which we all ended up getting custom made. Next week I will need to go back to Grishko to pick up my exam leotard and skirt, which I ordered roughly two weeks ago. My mom is also here now for a visit! It has been nice being able to come to the apartment she is renting after class and spend some time outside of the school. I have been able to show her around Frunzenskaya so she can see what my life is like here. We have gone out to eat most nights, but some nights we just stayed in and cooked (in an actual kitchen!!) and watched Harry Potter. On May 4th, my mom went to Kuskovo Estate while I was in class. Yesterday, May 5th, my mom and I went to Tretyakov Gallery and the Park of Fallen Idols. When we came back, Lauren came to the apartment and we all ordered Mexican food for Cinco de Mayo. Today, May 6, Lauren (who is also really excited to have an actual kitchen here in the apartment) is coming to stay the night. Tomorrow we will get breakfast then head to the centre, where we will be pretty much the entire day. We will be going to the Kremlin, then after that we have front row tickets for a performance at Bolshoi. Monday and Tuesday are off, so my mom and I will be spending time doing a boat tour, walking in Gorky Park, and even taking a cooking class. The rest of the month is just finishing up school work and preparing for exams!
XOXO,
Louisa
